c. 1930s - 1940s; Replogle Globes - Chicago

Mid-century lighted globe made up of twelve chromolithograph paper gores laid on a sphere, printed tin hour dial and moulded brass half-circle meridian atop a turned wooden stand on four Streamline legs with clawed brass feet.

This piece was manufactured by Replogle, the largest globe manufacturer in the world. Due to it being from the 1940s, certain country names are (by current naming conventions) incorrect or omitted, such as "Yugoslavia" and "Rumania" and a lack of Pakistan.

Exhibits minor signs of wear including some small rips and scuffs in the gores, most noticeably next to the Galapagos Islands.

22" dia and 40" H
